PPDS Day 2024 – A Grand Opening! – Event Recap

The PPDS Day 2024, by DG GROW, hosted the Go Live of the Public Procurement Data Space website.

The PPDS Day 2024, organised by DG GROW, took place on 24th of September at BluePoint in Brussels, marking a significant success in bringing together public buyers, policymakers, businesses, auditors and service providers to learn how the Public Procurement Data Space will revolutionise public procurement data usage, ensuring better choices and outcomes for all. 

Event Highlights: 

The event featured a range of activities, including:

  •  Keynote speech from Hilde Hardeman, Director-General of the Publications Office, and Amaryllis Verhoeven, Acting Director, Tourism, Textiles, Digital Transformation of Industry and Social Economy at DG GROW.
  •  Live demonstrations of the PPDS, discussion on what’s in it for users and the motivations for data providers to join the PPDS and share their data.
  • Parallel sessions, where participants learned how to use the PPDS, but also about how procurement data is assessed in terms of their data quality along with insights into the technical aspects of the PPDS. 

We ended the day with a nice cocktail to celebrate together the Go live of Public Procurement Data Space

Key Outcomes: 

PPDS Day 2024 successfully presented the true power and impact of the Public Procurement Data Space, provided nice networking opportunities for the participants, sparking insightful discussion among throughout the day.
